Friend us!! http://www.Facebook.com/psychetruth Happiness & Money! Do Ads & Materialism in Society Cause Misery? The Truth Talks Psychetruth News Corresponde…
Very true! Certainly we need food and certain things to survive, but most advertising isn’t for things we really need. Even the food advertised is rarely ever healthy. You’re wise to recognize that tons of money doesn’t equal tons of happiness, thanks for your comment!
Great points in this video. As more people watch and wake up, they will take more control of their own lives back; I hope. If a good meal at a fine restaurant is what truly makes me happy but I’m poor then I think money can contribute to attaining some sorts of happiness. At the same time it takes an elevated being to find happiness in life with little or no money; give how our societies currently work.
The short answer is “yes”. This is the foundation of buddhism. The Second Noble Truth teaches that the cause of suffering is craving or thirst (tanha). We continually search for something outside ourselves to make us happy. But no matter how successful we are, we never remain satisfied.
I’d say your money could buy a profound happiness for other people, sponsor a kid, throw some change to the vagrants, buy your nephew a big bag of pistachios (I know that last one made me happy), help a sibling buy a home, whatever, it all comes around.
Trust that your experience taught you the lessons you needed, and the meds worked for you when they did, and they served their purpose. It is a very gray area. I have heard of people with bipolar disorder receiving intuition to actually continue taking their meds. Listen to your body. I was on a certain medication for years, then I tapered myself off of it when it didn’t help me anymore.
I heard someone say once that money doesn’t buy happiness but it allows you to arrive at your problems in style. Money is only a tool for the exchange of energy within a system and there are different forms of economy in our lives. I think that happiness buys money. Happy people don’t spend money to try and shed their unhappiness. Happy people tend to be more productive which allows them to earn money.
I don’t think this will catch their eye, but most people reading this are open minded, some may even have an answer for you if you’re brave enough to ask.
I believe part of the problem is that people think they are entitled to be happy. People should strive to be content; happiness as a sustained state of being is an illusion.
true, but if you look at it from a bigger picture, the people who make it hard, and control the strings are people who create and control money. if there was no money then no one would have to be slaves to the system anymore. they would hunt there own food. but since we are indoctrinated into a false paper based reality system, we have no choice.
Interesting Corrina… I can’t help but feel a bit confused though. On one hand this guy is making me feel like an idiot because I let my doc prescribe me antidepressants after dealing with ptsd/trauma etc— which actually really helped during a very dark time in my life. Yet on the other hand, now I’m learning all about the realities in regards to psychiatrists/drugs etc, etc, and am worried about what I might’ve let happen to my brain by accepting these drugs!! Scary and confusing stuff..

We actually significantly upgraded our mics, but were still working out the kinks. The audio will drastically improve in future videos 🙂
I think shopping is just an instant happiness, but not true happiness which makes you feel contented. From Japan xxx
