these are real disorders. You might want to have more respect for people who suffer from these disorders or who have loved ones who suffer from them. Your comment is also ignorant because there aren’t many medications available for this disorder, so although I agree about pharmaceutical companies being a source of problems in a lot of areas, it doesn’t mean doctors invented cancer, AIDS, schizophrenia, etc. bc of it…. DUH
I think being paranoid can be a healthy reaction … you cant go out in life being naive … people do try to take advantaged of you sometimes…
I guess it really becoming a problem when you cant function because of it….
Anger is the stage of grief we are in now, and we seem to be stuck there, might be awhile too.It is very complicated to say the least. Our son was a good person, held a good job, went to church, a wonderful father. However, his wife is a manipulative sicko that tore him down and denied that she had problems, her mother stuck her nose in their marriage and bossed him around too. Now he is dead, no longer can they hurt him, but we are finding out so much the pain he was in. Peace /compassion …no
I have never done this… but you might want to be a little more sensitive. People are reaching out for help…. what do you care? If you don’t want to read it, no one is forcing you to.
it’s not about a “cure”…it’s about learning to change your thoughts through therapy. You can learn to live a normal life with it though!! 🙂 Look for a cognitive therapist …be careful if you cannot pay without insurance that you not say that you have a personality disorder RIGHT away because insurance co sometimes won’t cover the therapy. Good luck to you and don’t give up hope! 🙂
Cont from below: spouse cheating when there is no indication of such…its the guy who allows his car to fall apart because he cannot trust anyone but himself to fix it and will allow it to literally be unusable for their spouse because they cannot fix it…psychs who do not put this info out there is allowing for unreliable data on how many people have this problem…they go many years until others just say it is old age…it is not just odd behavior…it is mental disorder
Incredibly insightful. Hopefully the people who daily “suffer” from this, will understand there IS help for them. Unfortunately, the vast majority don’t know it’s THEY that need the help and not their partner or others who they leave devastated by their suspicions and misplaced thoughts. I truly wish all who are affected by this could get the help they need, but THEY have to recognize they need the help first….and this is the hardest part of the journey. God Bless.
I will never feel at peace, NEVER!!!
Did my son’s wife have “compassion” when he held a gun to his head and asked her if she was going to leave him, after she said she wanted a divorce just to get his attention? After he shot himself she said that she was just “super angry” and had no intention of ever leaving him. She told the police that she wanted him back and to “wake her up” This is true…..this really happened….we are without our son yet his wife is still untreated with her illness.
I agree, not a bad person, but a person that destroys another person……some people might jump to conclusion and call a killer a killer.Causing a suicide is against the law in some states, maybe this type of disorder which ends in a suicide could bring more awareness, as the police chief refused to consider charging our son’s wife with the felony. He said, “your son had other outs, he didn’t need to commit suicide”I asked why do they even have this law then? We need to educate the police too.
katy, please enlighten us readers about your credentials in this field, because I am not impressed so far.
I don’t know why you said what you did! Do you have experience with PPD or are you a student studying the disease? The comments by tiredowalkin are obviously from a level of experience. Not some knee jerk response like your comment appears to be. You have no idea what he went through with his spouse, yet you pass it off like some cop investigating a case and hungry for a doughnut. A human life was DESTROYED by someone untreated with PPD. How dare you say such things. My prayers to the family
This info is all correct…he is just reading what webmd has on its website…there are much simpler indications of ppd…when someone will not pay for repairs to homes or vehicles…try to document every move their intended target does for perceived threats that will cause financial loss or employment..these videos do not delve into the common everyday types if delusional thinking…instead they focus on the extremes..such as alien abductions…its the spouse who constantly tries to catch their
but treatment is a must. See at least you were able to share your story and inform others. :/ Wow. Amazing the two parallels.
I was not trying to be negative :/ I’m very sorry if I said anything hurtful!! All I was saying is what any other psychologist would say. I thought it may be helpful because I know that sometimes by harboring anger or blame, we are unable to feel at peace instead of seeing compassion. We all deal with our own demons, but I think no one is a victim of anyone else without choice. I sincerely meant it with so much compassion and my deepest sympathies are with you. I can only imagine your grief..
you know in my studying more about this disease I hate to say that I came upon a pretty incredible revelation that my old childhood friend (deeply disturbed person who I am no longer in contact with)…. her husband committed suicide as well. We thought she was BPD, but reading so in depth about it I am sure she is PPD also. I didn’t realize how abusive they can be. I hope this starts awareness bc it’s not a pers disorder spoken of much. Not to say everyone who has it is this bad….
The brain isn’t communicating well, the soul needs to feed. Taking advantage because of a lack of prior knowledge.
i have this illness but its out of controlle like now i believe im being watched i have lost friends through this because i just find it better to argue ect ect ect can it be cured like properly or have i compleaty gone and sycotic ? !
I think my MIL has PPD. She’s paranoid about everything and anything. She won’t trust anybody. She keeps complaining about this & that. She just likes to stay at home cuz it seems to be the safest place for her (but still she doesn’t want to be home alone).
My heart truly hurts for you. I can only say although I know that objectively, not being at “peace” with what happened, but I hope you are able to forgive in your heart for your sake, not because anyone deserves it. I say objectively just because I can imagine that as a mother, your pain is unimaginable. I think God is the only way I’d live through that. I hope that you are able to reach people that are in abusive/unhealthy relationships through your story.
Tired i hope you find peace..but don’t feel obligated to forgive the person you see as directly responsible..sometimes there simply is no forgiveness…oprah thinks everything is forgiveable…what a joke…she doesn’t even have children…unless we have walked in your shoes..we cannot know the depths of your pain…i have a sis who lost an adult son by an accident…the pain is indescribable for her…sometimes anger gets you to the next stage…never be afraid of your anger…ur normal
