It’s true the car seats are made to round out your back. They actually
make back supporters for sitting in car seats because of this. My computer
chair has a similar shape to it. I think I’ll use the pillow thing for
    that.

Is it ok to alternate between leaning against the back of the chair and
then sitting more on the edge so I’m not leaning at all? I find that my
back gets pretty tired if I don’t lean most of the time. But I do try to
    change it up sometimes.

Hi!! I would REALLY appreciate some tips/yoga vids for people with lower
back injuries. I was injured by twisting in 2005, had to have a discectomy
    (saw a chiropractor first!) removing L4 – L5 disc leaving L5 -S1 herniated.
Long story as to why that happened. Anyway, I’m now carrying an extra 60+
pounds around 🙁 can you help??

I had no problems with the video-audio sync. I guess you fixed it.

Excellent suggestions, Courtney. I used to have lot of back pain, due to a
ruptured disc at L5. So I’ve had ergonomic chairs for years, that force me
to sit up as you advise. However, I did have to use a pillow in my car for
years. Until I could get ergonomic car seats. So I can vouch for the
effectiveness of your suggestions. Thanks, Courtney!

The posture portrayed here will cause more problems with people over time
    than it would actually help.

1)There is no such thing as a sitting bone. Humans did not evolve to sit
like this and the bone that is there is happenstance. Humans can sit for a
while without problems partially because of these bones but sitting in one
position can cause unnatural wear and over time pain and discomfort.

    2) For large people this is actually a terrible way to sit. For skinny
people it’s better. This is because the extra weight from the belly will
pull forward on the spine. Recent research has doctors now prescribing a
135 degree angle sitting backward, and the larger you are the more it is
recommended. Sitting like this also causes pressure to your lower internal
organs especially if you wear tight pants or a tight belt.

3)To relate to that if you use your arms in front of you while sitting you
will note that it puts a lot of extra pressure on your back if you use this
posture. When you have a weight farther from it’s contact point the stress
increases on the structure. Hence why a lot of people lean forward and put
their arms on their desk when typing or eating.

4)The other problem with this posture is that the back muscles have nothing
to pull against, it all goes straight down which is not how the back
    muscles naturally move.

I see more people with this type of “proper posture” complain about back
issues from sitting. They also loose a lot of muscle and end up unable to
sit in other positions because they are literally to weak. The back is very
strong normally and people who don’t do extra exercise end up loosing that
strength. Your back is strong, use it. A lot of people will recall at the
slightest hint of pain and never use their muscles. Back muscles should
occasionally feel sore and used because that’s how muscles work. As you use
them they cause tiny pieces of damage and the repair process creates extra
muscle. The pain is the damage and regrowth.

When people manage to get rid of the pain they think they are doing a good
thing, but in fact they are creating more problems for themselves in the
    future.

Now, A lot of fitness people do just fine, but they also exercise the
muscles in other ways. For fit people who exercise the muscles they do just
fine sitting like this. And don’t understand that recommending that posture
to most people does more harm than good because they are going from their
own experience. Sitting back at a 135 degree angle doesn’t use the muscles
very much either, however you do use the muscles to get up, lean forward,
turn, and in general use while sitting that is avoided if you sit in one
    way.

Also, you body needs to move sitting in one posture stagnates the body and
makes it weak in other ways that aren’t really relevant here.

For car seats you want to move the seat forward a little and lean the seat
back just a bit. To judge the proper distance hold your arms on the
steering wheel so that they only bend slightly at the elbow.

At work I almost always have my legs crossed (ankle resting on a knee). I
like the feeling of my hips being open. Keeping my legs together feels
uncomfortable. I’m fairly tall so most chairs are too short and shallow for
me. My real problem though is with driving. I experience constant tightness
on the groin/hip flexor muscles of my accelerator foot.

When im driving a semi. I sit on a pillow. If i dont i can actual feal my
tail bone. I use a pillow and remove all the air from the air seats when im
driving. Im at the point of my ass hurting so much i want to invent a bean
bag, memory foam pillow. so i can sit on and drive 11 hours straight
without stopping at a rest stop and crying that my tailbone is on fire,
when i have to walk fast and rub my tail. I have massaged my tail bone so
many times, and every time i touch it, it is always at a different state
    hanging to the left.

One day i was drunk and i fell off a
crane that was two floors in the air. I landed on my feet and my legs slid
from the loose gravel, then i took a blow to my tail bone, when i landed
all the impact to my ass.

Im just shocked when i told someone that i injured my tail bone. And i had
ppl on this earth say that humans dont have tail bones. Da fuck. The tail
or end of a tail is connected to the spine. Smh

human height. I mean how to adjust height of your working space furniture?
