I have two industrial coffee makers hanging from my ceiling that intravenously feed me. I don’t feel a thing, and I’m completely normal, except for the occasional electric zapping in my head, and the voices constantly asking me “when am I allowed to die”.
It most often has less than what’s in coffee. Plus, some components within the tea actually hinder caffeine absorbtion if steeped long enough. The way it stimulates the body is very different to coffee. It’s actually relaxing in moderation. Also a little caffeine boost is actually desired. 😉
There are a lot of extremely successful people who do “illicit” stimulants such as “yayo” etc…. as well as RX stimulants…… unfortunately they usually have a lower life span and end up with health and / or heart problems. Moderation is key.
I’m talking about green tea here. But there are tons of (natural) flavorings for black tea aswell. Like the famous Earl Grey (bitter orange zest). Best idea would be to go to a tea shop and see what you find. What’s the Point if drinking it is not enjoyable, right?
To my family, it’s not the extremes of all or nothing, it’s indulgence in moderation. Although I provide plenty fruits, berries and local honey, I give her refined sugar.
i gave up soda many years ago….and i have never had a cup of coffee in my entire life. i am age 45. i only drink tea and spring water w/lemon. or freshly-juiced fruits…or smoothies. people have “attention deficit disorder” because of the way social media hyper stimulates us with never ending variety of content 24/7 . our cognition, learning styles and brain chemistry is changing …i am sure of it. its probably not the anomaly anymore. need to detach from tech, get rest, go into nature
Very true, I love ordinary tea, but my quest is to find an enjoyable and tasty non-caffeine tea, shouldn’t be difficult, I live in Tea Central aka England ! Thank you 😉
Thank you Kitty, I will try that! Is it a black tea? I might try the ginger flavour as this will help with my digestion. I have Jasmin in my garden, smells divine 😉
There is a very poignant video on youtube called Fat Sick and Nearly Dead which is a testimony to what happens if you don’t follow what the good folks at Psychetruth are teaching us!
Coffee does not stimulate me, it mellows me out. On the other hand I had to take pain killers. I used vicodene; I did not sleep for three days; literally. I guess I’m just weird!
I just drink normal tea (PG tips in the UK, no sugar, splash of milk), I find it refreshing. Coffee certainly does make me sleepy, I wonder why that is? So in theory I could drink it at bed time and have a nice sleep – strange but true. Green tea is an attractive option, am trying it but its a work in progress I don’t like the taste (yet).
Perhaps if either of you had real, demanding occupations you would have a different view. In college students take stimulants because most students take stimulants which causes test grades to rise and therefore making classes more difficult. So if you do not take stimulants you have to work that much harder to make the same grades. We don’t need stimulants but society makes it necessary.

lol!
I used to drink 1-2 quarts of strong coffee daily. Once I stopped drinking at noon to 1pm, I rarely had issues with insomnia.
