Music programs are vital for human development..the soul & spirit. Yes it’s 1 of the reasons public ‘schools’ are dismantling music programs nationwide..Music promotes creativity, listening…alertness..introspection…free thought & individual expression. Things the power structure doesn’t want for their “new society.” So they work to take music out of education. using every excuse imaginable: “no money”..”budget cuts”..”unnecessary for curriculum”..etc. But they never cut sports…!

An important thing people need to know about the Mozart Effect is that it wasn’t actually tested on babies at all. It was actually tested on college students in their early to mid twenties, and it was also shown to have no appreciable effect on intelligence.
Show me the empirical peer reviewed studies that show support for this.

I’m pretty sure listening to brazilian bossa nova as a child (Joao Gilberto, Luiz Bonfa, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Astrud Gilberto, Stan Gets… etc.) helps greatly in developing musical abilities and sensitivity, even understanding complex harmonies and rhythmic patterns.
So make you children listen to jazz and bossa nova is a good idea, not classical music though!
