To your first sentence, I’m not quite sure how to approach it. It sounds like we’re in agreement but would rather be certain. To faith and civilization I would disagree with you. While a faith in God can be supplanted by a faith in the rule of human law has worked, it is a faith all the same. Once that faith is gone civilizations fall. Look at Rome, Athens, Babylon. In each case a loss of faith contributed greatly to the fall of the civilization.

Would you believe in a biblical scholar that says the bible is a hogwash of various components pieced together throughout the bronze age for the benefit of men in various political situations? You’d be surprised, when you’re not saying god this and god that and quoting scriptures, the arrows don’t come. Rational discussions can happen.
Maybe the quotation you hang your whole video on is also not correct. So is there something that absolutely is true. Or is truth changing and adaptable or even individual…cannot be. If you have your truth and I have mine than truth is per definition not the truth. Question remains: What is truth?
Yes, you can be right that some of those who do not follow a specific religion/faith can have direction. But I’ve found that when you don’t have to reinvent the wheel to know what’s right and wrong, life becomes much simpler. As a Traditional Catholic (Oh I can hear the arrow’s coming) I have found that learning from someone else what they have learned and trusting in them and their teachings simplifies life a great deal. Things do change. But anymore, rarely for the better.

No, if someone professed to be a biblical scholar and said that is all hogwash I would not follow them because they are a contradiction in terms. A Biblical Scholar attempts to learn from the Bible. Not use it to ridicule, degrade, and insult those who believe in what it says.
Well oddly enough, I have you. Atheism falls under the “System of Beliefs”. If you believe in a moral and ethical code, for better or worse it is a “System of Beliefs”. For an Atheist to not be part of a “System of Beliefs”, nothing would stop them from doing what ever whim happens through their mind at any given moment.

He exhorts us to have faith in Him, in his existence, in his love for us, and in his mercy and judgements as a father dose his children. Faith is a form of trust that requires no evidence. What if faith is just people wishing their were someone there looking after them like parents do for babies someone/thing that loves you as much as you love them/it back, knows you personally, loves justice and hate wrongdoing (very concrete justice). Calling for scientific reference is not calling for authority. It’s calling for evidence. The job of peer-reviewers is to pick holes in the research wherever they can. If a paper survives it, it’s as reliable as it can be with our state of knowledge, and somebody’s experience can’t really measure up to it.
