Thanks so much for sharing, I love you guys at PsycheTruth! Jen you’re my
favorite of all the instructors! Love how mellow you are! I didn’t have a
clear wall to practice against so I used my sofa! =)
Hi Jen, I’m Mattia from Italy it has been almost a year since I started
doing yoga, ahahah actually I do DDP yoga (my favourite style I love it!)
and hatha yoga; it changed my life considering what I have been through!
I exercise every day and more or less 2 months ago I started working on
getting the split. So here’s the poses that I usually do to improve my
flexibility to own the split:
I always focus on my breath using my diaphragm, first of all I do some warm
up with the dynamic resistance, then I do the sun salutation, some cat pose
and downward dog and then:
1 Butterfly pose
2 Upavishta konasana
3 Frog pose ( with feet touching together and then withseparated feet kinda
like in a squat position)
3 Half lotus pose with one leg and then the other one
4 Pigeon pose one leg at the time
5 Heron pose one leg at the time
6 Seated balancing toes to hands using my core in order to hold the pose
7 Supta Padangushtanasana
8 Then I try gently and slowly to do the split
At the end I do jathara parivartanasana, pavanamuktasana one knee at the
time, and some series of bridges and pavanamuktasana grabbing both my knee
and finally shavasana.
What do you think about this routine? Honestly gradually I’m getting better
even though I know I have to work way more on it, but in the meanwhile I’m
going to enjoy every moment of practice!
Next time I’m going to add to the poses you recommended!
Thank you for your very useful video, you’re really good at explaining and
I can feel how much you’re fond of what you’re doing!
